Lollipop Cookies

I was inspired to make these cute lollipop cookies after seeing similar lollipop cookies on Pinterest. The lollipop cookies reminded me of a Tiffany charm I saw years ago, and because I couldn't resist using the turquoise Americolor food gel again, I had to make them. These cookies were so fun to make and turned out so cute. You can use this recipe to make any coloured lollipop cookie you like.  This would also be a fun bake for children to do. Happy Baking xo Lollipop Cookies Ingredients · 170 grams butter, softened · 1 cup white sugar · 2 eggs · 1 teaspoon vanilla extract · 2 ½ cups plain flour · 1 teaspoon baking powder · ½ teaspoon salt · Food colouring (Turquoise Americolor) Instructions 1. Nutella Meringue Cookies

Image
I made these Nutella meringue cookies as I wanted to try another of one my Americolor food colour gels. I decided to make rose meringue cookies filled with Nutella.  They turned out so pretty and tasted delicious. The recipe is easy and fun to make.  I also tried out the technique of painting the colour gel into the piping bag.  This gave the meringue roses a beautiful finish.   I used the Tulip Red colour gel for this recipe.  They turned out so pretty even though I thought the red would be brighter.  What will I make next??? There are so many colours to try.  If you have any suggestions would love to hear from you in the comments. Happy Baking xo  Nutella Meringue Cookies Ingredients · 4 egg whites · 170 grams caster sugar · 1 teaspoon vanilla extract · Food colouring (Tulip Red Americolour) Filling · ¼ cup Nutella Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 100°C. 2. ...

Mini Yo-Yos (Melting Moments)

Image
I thought I would share with you all, one of my signature bakes.  The traditional melt-in-the-mouth biscuit known as Yo-Yos.  Yo-Yos are made with custard powder and often people refer to them as Melting Moments.  However, the only difference is that melting moments are made with cornflour instead of custard powder. These biscuits are loved by all as they melt-in-your mouth and they taste so good with the lemony buttercream in the centre.  I love this recipe as it's easy and you can fill the biscuits with any filling you like or you can just eat the biscuits unfilled. If you haven't noticed I like to bake products in mini form or bite size.  I find that everyone loves mini desserts or treats.  You can make 16 full sized Yo-Yos or 32 mini ones. Hope you bake this classic traditional biscuits soon as everyone will love them.  This is a favourite amongst my family and friends. Happy Baking xo Mini Yo-Yos (Melting Moments) Ingredients · ...

Cute Watermelon Macarons

Image
I have gone macaron crazy in my kitchen.  But there are no complaints here, as everyone can't get enough of this delicious treat. I made watermelon macarons awhile ago for a close friend for her birthday as she loves watermelon things.  I had to make them again to share with you all as they are so cute. They are so fun to make and they look just like watermelons.  They remind me of summer and I'm definitely counting the days to warmer weather. I made these macarons using the French method but would love to one day try the Italian method. There are so many different macaron flavours I would love to try and bake too. I usually make macarons with a white chocolate ganache but I didn't have thickened cream so I made these watermelon macarons with a buttercream filling instead.  I will share my white chocolate ganache icing in another macaron bake in the future. Tiffany Blue Macarons

Image
I recently received a box of Americolor food colour gels as a gift.  I was so excited about my first food colour gels and couldn't wait to use it in my baking. I first saw Nick from 'The Scran Line' uses this brand of food colour gels in his cupcakes and the colours come out so vibrant, bright and colourful. I decided that I needed to try out the turquoise colour gel first as it's my favourite shade of blue.  I really wanted to see how closely it would match the Tiffany Blue.  So I decided to make some Tiffany Blue macarons filled with buttercream and blueberry jam. Not only did the macarons look so pretty but they also tasted delicious.  I think I'm in love with my new food colour gels.  I can't wait to use the other colours in my baking. Happy Baking xo Tiffany Blue Macarons  Ingredients · ¾ cups almond meal · 1 cup icing sugar · 2 egg whites · 4 tablespoons caster sugar · Food colouring (Turquoise Ame...
